Sounds Australia announces first Export Stimulus grants

AMC-represented composer, electronic musician and pianist Kitty Xiao is among the 31 successful applicants who have secured funding for their current and upcoming projects as part of SOUNDS AUSTRALIA's new Export Stimulus program.

The grant will support Kitty Xiao's attendance at the upcoming 2021/2022 10th International Ensemble Modern Academy in Germany, and an Artist Residency in 2022 at the Chateau d'Orquevaux in France.

Successful applicants also include WA-based composer and sound designer Rachael Dease who will travel to Gothenburg, Sweden, early in 2022 to realise her score for Here Not Here,  a collaborative music theatre/installation project to take place at the Gothenburg Opera House.

In total, 31 applicants will receive over $408K in funding through this first round of the program.
