Event Details
He’s been called a force of nature. He doesn’t merely play the music so much as unleash its primal force. Nikolai Demidenko last came here in 2007 and left an indelible impression. If you thought you knew Beethoven’s majestic Emperor Concerto (it was voted Australia’s favourite concerto in the ABC Classic FM poll) this performance will change your perception forever! The ASO’s survey of the music of Sibelius continues with the Suite from King Kristian II, music to a patriotic play that deeply inspired the young Sibelius to create his first great score.
Featured non-Australian music: Beethoven Piano Conc No 5 Emperor; Sibelius King Kristian II Suite
