Event Details

Four composers overstep the boundaries of their field: the groove in Bernhard Lang’s Differenz/Wiederholung cycle originates from African percussion rhythms, Middle Eastern folk music and hip hop beats. Øyvind Torvund confronts New Music with the melancholy of the singer-songwriter, the bureaucratic straightforwardness of the piano reduction, and the dazzling sparkle of the Las Vegas big band sound. Thomas Meadowcroft tries his hand at a musical non-genre by examining news jingles for their musical substance. In a doppio movimento, Andreas Dohmen creates a music of acceleration and over-acceleration, a sprawling furioso in the form of a triple concerto.
