Event Details

This striking concert includes the premiere performance of the flute concerto “Everything I Touch” by Sydney composer Margery Smith, inspired by haikus and micro poetry and written specially to show the wizardry of Hourglass flautist, international star Ewa Kowalski. The concert also features two more new works by Australian composers, the "Russian Rag" by the revered Elena Kats-Chernin, and the beloved masterpiece Brahms’ first Clarinet Sonata. The Hourglass Ensemble's special brand of unusual combinations of instruments, intimate and engaging performance, and explaining the music to draw you to the inside with the performers, will have you spellbound from start to finish.
