From 60 applications, 4 successful Hatchlings for 2017 were chosen – Ciaran Frame (NSW composer), Luke Carbon (VIC clarinet + sax), Jasmin Leung (QLD composer) and Kieran Welch (QLD viola). Throughout the year the composers are working closely with Berlin-based Australian composer and guest mentor, Cathy Milliken. The performers will work with US-based Australian vocalist and guest mentor, Jessica Aszodi as well as members of Ensemble Offspring and will have the opportunity to perform alongside them throughout the year. On 27 September, Hatched Academy activities will be showcased in concert at the Red Rattler Theatre.
