Gerard Brophy's new work Tibrogargan will be premiered in KPO's 2020 season opening concert, which also includes the Famous Fives - Beethoven's Piano Concerto No 5, The Emperor, and Shostakovich's epic Symphony No 5.
Soloist, Leanne Jin was winner of the 2019 Lev Vlassenko Competition and the 2019 Sydney Eisteddfod Kawai Piano Scholarship.She has also been a prize winner in KPO's own Concerto Competition, now in its 36th year. Tibrogargan is one of the Glasshouse Mountains in Queensland and in Aboriginal mythology, the father of the mountains.
