Event Details

As part of the Convent’s tenth birthday celebrations, a well remembered classical music event, Music in the Round, is returning to this picturesque site. This anticipated program brings together an array of Australia’s most renowned chamber musicians. A series of exciting performances will run in parallel across three iconic Convent venues: the award-winning Good Shepherd Chapel, the recently restored Oratory and the intimate black and white tiled Mural Hall.

With an array of historical buildings and winding pathways in between, the journey between venues is spectacular and the Heritage Gardens will offer a space for respite and a picturesque spot to enjoy lunch. To add to the package, on-site catering company Bursaria will be offering picnic hampers filled with gourmet cheese, sandwiches and sweets for you to indulge in between acts. These hampers need to be pre-purchased when you buy your tickets.

Each performance will be repeated, ensuring that a full venue or overlap in artists’ set times will not prevent you from hearing your favourite musicians play. Along with this esteemed line up, there will also be free jazz in the Heritage Gardens throughout the day and free children’s concerts with Patma Music making it a fun-filled day for all!

Featured non-Australian music: Hasselmans; Handel; Bach; Saint-Saens
