Pipe Organ Plus exposes the magnificence and range of Pipe Organ music with the return of Perth’s most unusual musical trio, back for an encore performance in 2012.
BEAT sees the fusion of renowned organist, Dominic Perissinotto, award winning composer and talented piano accordionist Cathie Travers and internationally acclaimed saxophonist Matthew Styles, presenting a unique programme of contemporary and classical works that promise to both soothe and invigorate its audience in delightful contrast.
As well as incredible pedal work demonstrated in Leo Sowerby’s Pageant for organ, BEAT features John Carmichael’s wonderfully melodious Aria and Finale, Vierne’s Hymn to the Sun for organ and a captivating arrangement of Debussy’s best loved piece; the playful, cheeky and exuberant Children’s Corner Suite.
The concert highlight is a repeat performance of heart<BEAT>, a dynamic and otherworldly contemporary piece, composed by Travers in 2009 specifically for the ensemble.
