Event Details

A showcase of new works by emerging South Australian composers Chris Larkin, Steven Tonoto, David Lang and Matthew Sandstrom, and a performance of David Kotlowy's Huangshan Postcards.

The composers project was launched as part of the Soundstream: Adelaide New Music Festival in August and has been overseen by eminent South Australian composers Grahame Dudley and Anne Cawrse. Thanks to SAYAB, a group of our leading young composers have had the opportunity to workshop and develop their own compositions over the past six weeks, culminating in a performance on Friday 25th September.

The showcase will feature young musicians who have had the opportunity to work with Grahame Dudley to stage a performance of David Kotlowy’s contemporary work Huangshan Postcards. Conducted by Grahame Dudley and featuring Anouvong Liensavanh (flute), Peter Handsworth (clarinet), Alice Turner (violin), Sebastian Tinkin (cello), Marianna Grynchuk (piano) and Andrew Penrose (percussion).
