Event Details
Syzygy Ensemble touch upon three generations of Australian composition.
In this concert, Syzygy Ensemble widens its lens to incorporate the sounds and experiences of composers from all around Australia. The ensemble stretches forwards and backwards in time, reaching back into the sounds of the first Australians in George Lentz’s ‘Nguurraa’ and looking forward with a new Melbourne Recital Centre commissioned work from Melbourne’s own May Lyon.
In surveying the nation’s cultural space, Syzygy Ensemble touch upon three generations of Australian composition, from the established mastery of Mary Finsterer to the energetic new sounds of Peter de Jager and Annie Hsieh.
Presented by Melbourne Recital Centre and Syzygy Ensemble.
