Event Details
A unique recital PHILANTHROPISTS’CHOICE honours philanthropic support of the arts – a necessary symbiosis that dates back to the time of Shakespeare and in recent years, has become more important than ever to the performance of chamber music. As a way of saying thanks, Sally has created a program around inviting the donors to step into the role of artistic directors and nominate works that they would like to see played.
Internationally acclaimed flautist Sally Walker will perform Banney’s Psalms with mezzo-soprano Jenny Duck-Chong, director of award-winning Sydney ensemble Halcyon and Christ Church Cathedral organist Peter Guy. Joining them on stage will be TMD Young Artists: accordionist Neil Simpson, flautists Hannah Caterer, Sarah Monk and introducing flautist Sarah Mepham, who is also a valued contributor to the operation of the Twilight Musical Dialogues recital series.
Entry is by donation at the door.
Featured non-Australian music: Piazzolla, Falla, Albinoni, Paganini & Trad. Favourites
