This resource is to assist educators in accessing, understanding and teaching Australian film music to students in the classroom environment. The resource is for primarily secondary school students and can be incorporated in classroom programs at the senior level, Years 7-12. The content of this resource includes an introduction to the game music with a discussion on game music construct. This is followed by a discussion of the game music written by Clark Aboud, Biddy Connor as well as an art music composition that combines a game music inspired backing track with instruments by Jessica Wells. The resource will include access to video clips and screencasts to the games and music. Towards the end of the resource are teaching prompts/ideas to assist with the presentation and study of these works in the classroom. These prompts or tasks have been divided into Listening/Musicology, Performance and Composition.
