First version of the suite composed for clarinettist Deborah de Graaff and the Kur-ring-gai Virtuosi. For a Radio Suisse Romande live broadcast by the Quatuor Krommer in February 2001, clarinettist Thomas Friedli suggested enlarging the suite, resulting in the present 1st and 4th movements.
