Product details

This resource is to assist educators in accessing, understanding and teaching Australian electroacoustic music to students in the classroom environment. The resource is for primarily secondary school students and can be incorporated in classroom programs at the senior level, Years 7-12. The content of this resource includes an introduction to electroacoustic music with a discussion on the different approaches to applying technology in music composition through the lens of the selected works. The music by Kate Milligan and Cat Hope includes video and notated scores with fixed electronic tracks which have been created prior to the performance. The works by Monica Lim and Mark Oliveiro consist of interactive electronics and although also with scores, the performances can change depending on the concert and/or concert environment. Each example includes a discussion of these composers and their works with detailed listening guides. Towards the end of the kit are teaching prompts/ideas to assist with the presentation and study of these works in the classroom.
