Product details

Suite for Violoncello is a personalized exploration of the for m established by J.S. Bach two and half centuries ago'. It draws inspiration and ideas from the
master and at the same time, develops music which reflects the eclectic musical experience of the composer The music is in five movements.
I Allegro The Prelude is possessed by a sense of continuous rising and falling. Themes are fleeting in the face of the prelude's fanciful and perhaps whimsical approaches to the
development of a musical idea.
II At a walking pace -
III Adagio Espressivo. One of the magical experiences in my adult life is the waking at 5 am as a guest of a friend in Brisbane to the sound of the pied butcher bird. So
enthralling was their song that I thought someone was whistling. This movement is lyrical and conveys of a sense of tonality combined with the slightly disorienting shifting of
melodic material.
IV Humoresque Macabre-a weird waltz
V. The Finale has as its tempo marking "With Fury" and this is what it aims for. An intense and dynamic rhythmical idea taken to an extreme.
