Work Overview
Having been writing informally for Derek in a brassband context (content I - VIII), and after members the Hobart Chamber Orchestra premiered a string orchestra piece written at the invitation of Simon Reade, 'Entelechie', on August 11th, 2024, the possiblity presented itself of combining strings and windband instrumentation. This double concerto, content IX, for clarinet and viola is the result.
