Silver Whirlwinds is the first movement in the three-movement 'Silver Winds Suite'.

The work is peppered with modal and jazz harmonies and syncopated melodic figures, while the whirling sextuplet figures and dramatic rising trills played by the flute are the inspiration for the title of the work is the first movement in the three-movement 'Silver Winds Suite'.
