Work Overview

This one-movement piece is based on the poem 'Requiescat', by Oscar Wilde, and the opening unaccompanied melody is shaped precisely to the text, included in the score. Thereafter, the music takes the form of a series of 'reflections', till a complete reiteration of the opening melody, this time accompanied. A further 'reflection' leads to a brief coda.
