Work Overview
Indigo Invention is a lyrical duet and was composed in September 2010 with the assistance of a Fellowship from the Australia Council for the Arts. It was written for Susan Collins (violin) and Sue-Ellen Paulsen (cello) who gave the work its first performance at Leighton Hall, the University of New South Wales in Sydney the following year. The duet is a short work of about five minutes duration and draws some of its material from the second movement of the large work, Quintet for Clarinet and Strings, Opus 83, written the previous year.
