My favourite Australian art song repertoire

The AMC asked leading practitioners to select their favourite Australian art song repertoire, to provide delegates to the 2013 International Conference of Vocal Teachers (Brisbane 2013) with an introduction to this rich and diverse landscape.
The main difficulty these songs present are their setting at a relatively high tessitura, with relatively long phrases in some instances and certain words at high pitches also proving possible challenges, or one of their possible attractions, depending on a singer’s range or tessitura. The ranges of the songs sit within that of a mezzo soprano, though the original manuscript is for unspecified voice.
