A solo piano meditation based on the slow movement of Schubert's final Piano Sonata, D.960. The musical material is entirely taken from the original. The tonic triad of C sharp minor is never played explicitly, but is held silently in the bass register throughout to provide resonance. The title puns on the German note-name for C sharp, "Cis".
Duration: 5 min.
This work is one of four commissioned pieces for the 'Melbourne Schubert Project', a set of musical reactions to Schubert's last piano sonata, D960.
