Raymond Hanson Centenary Concert
Posted by Chris Williams [] on 24 November, 2013
Just heard four of the movements of this piece at the Raymond Hanson Centenary Birthday Concert. His use of the alto sax instead of a horn is a brilliant detail - it brings an amazing warmth to the sound, completely changing the character and blend of the quintet. Beautifully performed by James Kortum, Alexandre Oguey, Michael Duke, Sue Newsome and Andrew Barnes (The Sydney Wind Quintet)
