Work Overview
This piece was written in dedication to my partner Alexander, it
was premiered in the recording by Lisa Moore for the CD "Purple
Black & Blues" (Tall Poppies), in 1998.
In 2007 I arranged it for an ensemble "Present Music"*) in
Milwaukee in USA for their concert in which they premiered
another piece of mine, "Village Idiot". They said it would be
nice to have an extra piece in the programme, to give my music
more exposure in that event. Later I arranged it again for
wind quintet and string quintet plus a piano.
The piece is light and a little nostalgic.
*) the instrumentation
for Present Music: is Fl/Ob/Cl in
Bb/Hn/Tbn/perc/Pno/Vln1/Vln2/Vla/Vlc/DB
for Sydney Soloists: Fl/Ob/Cl/Bsn/Hrn/Pno/Vln1/Vln2/Vla/Vlc (in
other words wind quintet plus piano plus string quartet)
for Sydney Symphony Discovery Series for performance in May/June
09 (not sure about the month)
