Work Overview
As ever, I was attracted to the immediacy and vividness of Wallace-Crabbe's poetry.
The subject matter here catapulted me back to my Melbourne
suburban childhood, where as aspiring tennis player and one-time
leader of a Gang I played 'rambunctiously' with siblings and
other kids before being 'packed off to bed', leaving select
opponents and many balls, yellow and otherwise, languishing in
puddles. I attempt here to remedy this negligence in the latter
case in my quasi-fugal realisation of the line about the yellow
ball.
