Commission note: Commissioned by Musica Viva Australia.. Commissioned for performance at the 1979 Mittagong Easter Festival, where concerts were held to mark the composer's fiftieth birthday.

First performance: by Nathan Waks — 14 Apr 79. Frensham School, Mittagong

Uses "plainsong requiem mass as source material" -- p.[1].
