Work Overview
Piano Trio, for piano, violin and cello, is a single movement work in three sections (Scherzando-Radiante-Furioso). The first section explores small, fragmented musical cells which undergo various transformations to become concrete motifs. The second section calls to mind an intricate mosaic, where contrasting voices overlap to create a layered texture. The last section employs canonic techniques to create polyphonic textures and chromatic voice-leading.
Overall, the motifs of the work evolve to create a cohesive and organic structure.
