Event Details
The ASO continues its 85th birthday celebrations of one of Australia’s greatest composers - Peter Sculthorpe (1929-2014). Memento Mori evokes the silent tragedy of Easter Island: great stone heads remain but there is no surviving history to tell of their meaning. Also, music by Annie Hsieh, Richard Meale and the great French composer Henri Dutilleux who died in 2013. Natsuko Yoshimoto is the violin soloist in the magical and nocturne-like Sur le même accord.
Featured non-Australian music: Dutilleux
