Not coming from a 'church' family, I had a sense of discovery when coming across the illuminating and inspiring words from Corinthians. A friend pointed out that these are perhaps some of the most famous lines on the Bible.
I love the old English version in which the repeated 'th' endings bring emphasis to the individual words, as well as the sound of the disparate, mighty words together:
Love suffreth long, beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things, love never faileth.
(Corinthians 3:4, 7-8)
