The latest music grants from the Australia Council for the Arts include funding for projects by AMC's represented artists Jonathan Zwartz ($13K for a new album also involving Mike Nock, Hamish Stuart and Julien Wilson); Nick Wales ($11.7K for a new work for string quintet and electronics); and Robert Davidson ($10.5K for a musical portrait of Bob Brown for two pianists, Michael Kieran Harvey and Arabella Teniswood-Harvey).

Also among successful applicants were Jessica Aszodi, for creative development of the Chamber Made production My Self In That Moment ($28K), in collaboration with artistic director Tamara Saulwick, composer Peter Knight and photographer Sarah Walker. BirdLlife Australia received $21.9K to fund commissions from composers Corrina Bonshek, Gambirra Illume and Chris Williams responding to the journey of migratory shorebirds along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway for a performance project by the Bowerbird Collective, violinist Simone Slattery and Anthony Albrecht. The project will provide significant exposure for the three composers and the conservation issues embodied in their works, with over 80 performances planned.

Veteran singer-songwriter Archie Roach was granted $28.8K for a project involving young and emerging First Nations artists. Substantial grants for organisations included funding for Melbourne Jazz Collective, Sydney Improvised Music Association and the Tasmanian Youth Orchestra, among others.
