Work Overview
The Two Interludes are adapted for piano from two movements from the song cycle, I am writing in this book. This song cycle was written for Halcyon and contains settings of short poems from Sei Shonagon's atmospheric twelfth century Japanese text, The Pillow Book. Two Interludes for piano is the second pair of pieces in the Opus 100 set - the first was Prelude and Postscript. The set is planned to be a substantial book of short pieces which can be performed individually or as a group.
