Work Overview
The electronic sounds are a treatment of Judges 5:25. There would be no meaning in reproducing the original Hebrew text, because it has been deconstructed into individual syllables, which then underwent electronic treatment. Particular syllables were associated with particular pitches on the basis of their sound only. In this way the text is reconstructed by the music, creating a disassociation between conventional ways of treating text and music; and creating a new text, new associations, and a new language. In the Sound Track part, the actual pitches have do not relate to the pitch of the recorded sound. Rather the pitch changes in the Sound Track show the original sounds with which the text syllables were associated as generated by the vibraphone part.
