The Inward Light : for concert band / Don Kay.
Library shelf no. 784.83/KAY 4 [Available for loan]
Work Overview
The starting point of for this piece began with consideration of 'the Inward Light' in history of Quakerism. I have attempted to suggest a sense of awakening and 'quietism'. Bolder and more forthright passages are intended to convey ideas of evangelicalism and social reform. The music is characterised by a sense of forward looking optimism.
